Value Stocks

May

After going through my old stock reports and technology reports, a lot has changed this decade. This may be a very obvious statement, but a true statement nonetheless. Here is a quick summary of the things that I noticed.

1. The PC is not dead. I wrote a series of articles years ago describing how the PC would essentially be useless someday. That hasn’t happened yet :).

2. Many of the small to mid size tech companies that I once covered have either been bought out or went bankrupt. I few examples would be Brooktrout Technologies, Dialogic, and Mercury Interactive.

3. Several former high flyers are now essentially penny stocks (under $5 per share) such as JDS Uniphase, Brocade, and Applied Micro Circuits.

4. Broadband has essentially arrived.

5. Storage makers have not done so well.
